North Holland is the birthplace of the hand crafted bed brand Lavital. This is where we have been making luxury box spring beds by hand for almost 20 years. We are a down to earth family business, with customers from all over the world. Because whoever wants a luxurious, personalized bed, that is also organic and fair trade, inevitably comes to the Lavital studio.

No two beds are the same at Lavital.
We make beds with the intention of letting the owner wake up feeling great every morning for the next thirty years. This is possible because we expertly tailor make the beds by hand, using only the best quality materials that are 100% natural. You can see it in our solid hardwood beech frames, unique to the bedding industry. Try finding a bed with a similar imperishable finger joint in a beech frame.

Our way of working is very different from the accepted norms in the bedding industry. We manufacture on a small scale, with true craftsmanship. In our own bedding studio in Zwaag. We want to make the best beds in the world with our focus on the health of our clients, the environment and the farmers that supply the materials. We choose pure materials, that have not been sprayed, like fair trade and organic cotton, organic wool, horse hair, camel wool and hemp.

Lavital box spring beds and mattresses are completely free of polyester, (memory) foam and (natural) latex. Every product that leaves our studio is tailor made by hand for the bed’s owner.

Sleeping naturally on 100% natural, non-sprayed, materials
The more honest the materials are, the better the final product looks and the better and healthier you sleep. You spend about a third of your life in bed. You need to be comfortable so your body can relax. The more chemical materials there are in your mattress, the worse the quality of your sleep: people sweat unnecessarily, toss and turn or wake up clammy. We usually compare it to wearing a coat. A wool or cotton coat breathes, wherever you wear it and whatever you do. Compare this to taking a walk in a coat made of polyether or latex. After a while, it becomes a lot less comfortable you become clammy because it does not breathe. So why would you want to sleep on polyester or latex? For health reasons, people choose organic foods, but then they sleep on a mattress that is manufactured with polyester, (memory)foam or (natural) latex simply because there aren’t many alternatives on the market. Lavital does offers you a healthy that alternative.
